SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
On Friday we will host a picnic at the Humboldt Park Gardens at 6pm. The Chicago Klezmer Ensemble will provide Hora dancing lessons for the wedding. Please bring a sitting blanket if you so desire and RSVP so we can order Chinese food for everyone. After the picnic, we invite you all to a karaoke party at Jim Priz's house at 2706 N Mozart St, Chicago, IL 60647.
Saturday Sept 24 4:30pm - Outdoor Ceremony and Reception at the Secret Garden in Pilsen: 1718 S Racine Ave, Chicago, IL. Followed by an after-party with margaritas and tacos, likely @ the patio at La Vaca (11ish). - So far, everything is unfolding as planned!
Sunday Sept 25 10AM - Brunch for the out-of-towners! Ccome over for brunch at Jim's house (2706 N Mozart St, Chicago, IL 60647), where Friday's savory melodies will be served in bagel form.
PARTY DETAILS
Musicians, feel free to bring your instruments. Circus artists, bring your apparatus if you want (there will be a rig - check in with us first). Poets, performance artists, and video peeps, if you want to share a piece, drop us a line in the RSVP or shoot one of us an email or a text.
As for attire, please wear whatever makes you feel most fabulous. Some practical considerations: the wedding is outdoors and on a lawn. Chicago September temps are generally between 65-80.
PARKING
Street parking is available in the neighborhood. Please be aware of permitted streets and parking meters. We recommend arriving in a cab service or locating in one of Pilsen’s many accommodations. We have limited parking passes available.
You might also consider using a service like Spot Hero to reserve a curb spot, should you wish to drive.
ACCOMODATIONS
The venue is in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. If you would like to stay in that area, and AirBnB is likely your best bet. Just put “Pilsen Historic District, Chicago” into the location bar and you’ll get many options.
There are hotels in nearby Chinatown and the South Loop, should you prefer.
We will be arriving from our apartment in Logan Square, which is a 15-30 min drive from the venue. If you prefer to stay closer to where we live, there is a lovely little hotel at Longman & Eagle three blocks from our apartment. The Hotel at Midtown is also not far from us. AirBnB is generally a good option. Simply put “Logan Square, Chicago” in the location bar; “Palmer Square” is nearby and will often generate more affordable AirBnB options.
We know some are on a tight budget. Reach out if that’s the case and we will do our best to connect you to a trusted friend with a spare room or comfy couch.
